SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GAS COMPANY PIPELINE SAFETY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT

Pangea Biological conducted environmental monitoring along multiple gas pipeline replacement and installation projects to ensure that construction activities remained in compliance with SDG&E’s operational protocols and SoCalGas' project-specific environmental requirements. This monitoring included:

 

• Conducting preconstruction sensitive species and avian nest surveys

• Monitoring of active pipeline construction activities

• Preparation of habitat assessment reports and daily and weekly monitoring reports

• Coordination between SDG&E, Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), Jacobs (CH2MHILL), contractor personnel, and other environmental monitors to ensure environmental compliance and protection of natural resources

• On-site environmental training to crews

• Soil sample collection during excavation activities for analysis at SDG&E’s environmental laboratory

• Recycled water site supervision during hydrostatic testing activities
